The Sri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir is one of the most famous temples in Mayur Vihar in East Delhi. When the area of Mayur Vihar was established some devotees got together and started prayers at the site of the temple in November 1989. Seeing the response that the temple got a temple committee was established in 1990. Initially, there was only one sannadhi of Lord Ganesha that was established in the temple premises. Later, different sannadhis were added into the temple premises.

In 1991, sannadhis of Lord Hanuman and Navagrahas were added and in 1997 a sannadhi of the family of Lord Shiva was established in the temple. In the year 1996, the temple committee decided on constructing a persisting sannadhi for Lord Ganesha as the main deity of the temple. Thus a structure was built with a primary floor and a vimanam atop it. The temple performed kumbhabishekam of Lord Ganesha in 1997. It was in this year that the three Sankaracharyas visited the temple. They performed abhishek for Lord Ganesha.

The temple conducts regular activities, events and special prayers. Several devotees from across Delhi come to pray at the temple. There are several restaurants and food stalls around the temple selling authentic south Indian food and coffee.

Architecture

The Sri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir has been built in a traditional South India temple style architecture. The temple complex has idols of several deities. People gather in the large hall where daily pujas and archanas are held every day. The temple walls have statues of several deities and mythological characters. The structure and architecture of the temple is worth seeing. The premise of the temple has huge halls and small complexes housing idols of different deities.

Attractions

Daily prayers and aartis are conducted at morning and evening wherein the priest decorates the idols and chants various mantras and prayers to invoke the Gods. Devotees clap hands and ring bells along with the priests during the aartis.

Special celebrations in the Sri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir are conducted during Ganesh Chaturthi. Other festivals like Ram Navmi, Navratri and Deepavali are also conducted with full fun and frolic. The temple is decorated beautifully and people from various communities gather at the temple for celebrations.

There is a huge hall in the temple that conducts various devotional and light music programs across the year. Artists and music students take part in various shows and competitions conducted at the temple. The temple is a meeting place for several South Indians residing in Delhi. It is also visited by people from several other communities. The premise and environment of the temple is quite serene and relaxing. Devotees can often be seen meditating and chanting prayers during the temple timings.

The Sri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir is open all around the year. The best time to visit the temple is during festival of Ganesh Chaturthi and the Navratras. The autumn and winter months are when the temperature in Delhi is pleasant and visitors can enjoy good Darshan and also sightseeing in Delhi.
