Iskcon Temple




Iskcon Temple, located at Sant Nagar close to the East of Kailash area, was completed recently in 1998. This temple belongs to ISKCON or the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna.

This temple is one of the forty temples that come under the ISCKON clan and is also known as ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple’.

This temple was built by devotees and followers with the aim of spreading the message of Bhagwad Gita. Acharya Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada started the ‘Hare Krishna Movement’. Several devotees made financial contributions for the construction of this temple.

How to Reach Delhi Iskcon Temple

The Iskcon Delhi remains open from 4.30 am to 12.00 pm in the morning and from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm in the evening. Special religious ceremonies are carried out on Sundays and it is the best day to visit the temple. Located in the posh areas of Kailash in heart of New Delhi, the ICKON temple can be reached easily from anywhere in the city. Reaching the temple from Indira Gandhi International Airport takes 45 minutes while it takes 25 minutes to reach the temple from Nizamuddin Railway Station which is the nearest rail head. Ample public transport facilities are available for tourists from all parts of the city. These options include DTC as well as private buses, auto rickshaws and taxis that are available round the clock.
