Lepakshi is a village in Andhra Pradesh, which is an Indian state located in the southeastern coast of the country. Andhra Pradesh is famous for its textiles. Sarees like Gadwal, Ikkat-Telia and Mangalgiri are popular in the region. Pochampalli is another name for Ikkat.  Telium rumal, which is an art of Ikkat tradition, is rapidly dying out. It derives its name from the treatment of yarn with oil. Gadwali sarees are made in the town of gadwall. These are cotton sarees with pure Zari borders. Kalamkari block printing is also very famous in Andhra Pradesh. It is the craft of painting cotton fabrics. The theme is mythological and home décor items and other accessories with these prints can be found here. Also, it is advisable not miss going through the Hyderabadi pearls. These pearls are available in while, pink, grey and black colors in different sizes. The strings and the sets are worth seeing and the price range begins with Rs. 1200 per string.
