People Of Delhi




The city of Delhi is multi-linguistic and multi-colored with people from all parts of India. Delhi is bordered by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Hence the lifestyle and language of Delhi is greatly influenced by these states. Citizens of Delhi are referred as ‘Delhites’. They are highly advanced and greatly receptive to novel customs but very considerate about their traditional culture. People from various culture, color, creed and caste can survive here with complete accord and peace. This says a lot about ‘Unity in Diversity’ among Delhites. Tremendous growth in infrastructure, new platforms for employment and business have attracted people from different parts of India to move towards Delhi for a better lifestyle. Currently, Delhi is over populated by people from neighboring states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Bihar.

The culture diversity of Delhi can be witnessed during festival spell when different religion people gather for a single cause.  The diversity can be easily noticed during festivals like Eid (Muslim festival) and Holi (Hindu festival) which are celebrated with special brotherhood and joy. The ecstasy of Christmas is accompanied by zeal of Guru Purab (festival of Sikh). Same elation can be observed at the time of Buddha Purnima and Diwali. Because of this solid reason, Delhi has acquired a perfect abbreviation as ‘Dilwalon Ki Delhi’ and everyone accepts the fact that Delhites are broad-minded, jovial and love their lifestyle.

Immigration

Immigration of people from nearby states made Delhi an over populated and intensely polluted fashion city. There is no residential area in Delhi that is left unoccupied. The population in Delhi has increased several manifolds in last few years. According to statistical data, population in Delhi has increased 40% in the last decade and present population is approximately 14 million. In spite of this fact, 60% of the population in Delhi is born in other states.  This population explosion in Delhi had paved a way for nearby states like Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to take an opportunity of this condition and draw inroads to improve their region. This is clearly visible from the improvements observed in Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon. These regions have reduced the tension of Delhi by inhabiting the logarithmic international demand of outsourcing and business in city. The high end facility within NCR resulted in easy transport between NCR and Delhi.

Lifestyle

The capital city is surrounded by four different states namely Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana and Punjab maintains strong influence on Delhi lifestyle. Being a cosmopolitan city, Delhites are wide open to novel ideas and new lifestyle. One can very well witness the transformation in the people demography in this city with their transforming lifestyle and the effect of novel ideas on people life’s in Delhi.  Citizens from different parts of India breathe in Delhi which makes this city highly cosmopolitan with a unity in spite of varying creed and caste. The term, ‘Unity in Diversity’ can be observed in all cultural and social get-togethers where one can witness diverse community people sharing a single platform for one main cause. Whether it may be Diwali, Holi, Eid, Buddha Purnima or Guru Purab, there will be same energy and delight among all people from various communities.

This historic city carries widely the treasured historical characteristics which can be observed in the remnants of earlier Mughal Dynasty in India. The tightly packed lanes and deteriorating structures still persist in city that is generously taken up by Delhi people as an honorable past. The ever growing Delhi Population has ended up facing traffic clogging issues, lack of accommodation, water and power supply. Population has increased above 40% in the last ten years and present population is approximately fourteen million. As Delhi could not hold such a huge population, it paved a way for the growth of adjacent regions resulting in evolution of NCR, National Capital Region. Satellite regions like Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon has decreased the burden of Delhi by providing huge land for accommodation and business activities.

Shopping

The culture of malls in Delhi has transformed the shopping style of people. There are novel malls and new shopping complexes in this place where one can cater all their necessities in a single destination.

Night Life

The new lifestyle of Delhites is supported by novel Night life culture. Several Night clubs in Delhi region serves people till mid night where one can drink eat and perform dance on stage.
