Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan




The Khadi Industries were looked after by All India Khadi and Village Industries till 1st April 1957. The KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) was formed by a Parliament Act (No. 61 of 1956) as a statutory body. The Commission was further strengthened by amendment acts of 12 of 1987 and 10 of 2006. Presently, the complete work of All India Khadi and Village Industries Board is being looked after by KVIC.

Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan is very popular for its excellent homespun cloth. Apart from clothing, the stores also have brilliant collection of natural soaps, henna, incense, spices and handmade paper.

Khadi Gramodyog provides traditional Khadi materials and handicrafts directly from the craftsmen. Khadi which was initially considered a gift to the poor man by the Father of Nation has emerged as a style statement in the present world. The Khadi Gramodyog works towards   conserving and upholding the customary tradition of India’s crafts and arts. The store houses good number of varieties of garments and fabrics made out of Khadi and other like products, linen and cotton.
