About ‘Dhaba’ at Claridges Restaurant in Delhi

‘Dhaba’ at Claridges is a restaurant at The Claridges in New Delhi, India. Dhaba is well known for recreating the exotic ambience of the archetypal rustic and bucolic highway eatery. Even the interiors of the Dhaba have been beautifully completed with rustic interiors, truck mural along with servers dressed totally in attire of traditional Punjabi garb.

The ambience seeks inspirations from a traditional North Indian local dining Dhaba dotting rustic wooden chairs and tables, highway, trucks, vivacious traditional Punjabi phulkari work, thatched ceiling, natural flooring, traditional lanterns, walls replicating mud walls from Punjab along with mud painted textures of traditional village huts.

The furnishings of the Dhaba with pictures of Indian gods and goddesses along with an old radio which continually belts out golden musical oldies from the typical ‘Black and White’ period of Indian cinema and typical Punjab pickle containers transport the visitors to a different world altogether.

The a-la-carte menu at the Dhaba offers a tantalizing and alluring taste of wholesome and nourishing North Indian cuisine. The core signature dishes at ‘Dhaba’ at Claridges include balti meat, tandoori kebabs, Baingan ka bharta along with a traditional chef's special Punjabi thali.
