The atmosphere in the National Rose Garden is very colorful as the rose plants here are of different colors and varieties. The garden looks vibrant at any given point during the year because of excellent colors and fragrance of the flowers floating around the place. Though roses occupy a predominant place in Rose Garden, there are also lots of other flowers like daisies and periwinkles that adorn the garden. One of the major advantages of Rose Garden is that it is  situated in close proximity to some of the major tourist attractions like Red Fort, Rajghat, Chandni Chowk, Vijay Ghat and Shanti Vana to name a few. Therefore, tourists can easily combine Rose Garden and these attractions in a single trip.

Shanti Vana – This is the place where the First Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru was buried during 1964. There are beautifully maintained lawns here and this place is quite close to Rajghat.

Rajghat – This place is made up of robust and concrete compound walls. There are beautiful lawns here and this is the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.

Red Fort – Another name for this place is the Lal Quila and this was constructed as early as 1639 by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is fully made up of red sandstones and one of the historic places of Delhi. When the country attained Independence from British rule, it was at this place that the National Flag was first hoisted.

Vijay Ghat – This is the place where the second Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri was buried.

Rose Garden is extremely beautiful during the winter months of December and January as this is the time when the flowers are in their full bloom and fills the air with excellent aroma.

Rose Garden is situated well within the main city and there is good transport connectivity to this place. Buses, trains, auto-rickshaws and taxis can be used to get to Rose Garden.
