Operated by Northern Railways, Delhi Suburban railways is one of the suburban rail services initiated in the National Capital Region. Such service imbibes entire Delhi together with other linking districts of Ghaziabad, Faridabad and few other adjoining places like Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Such service is mainly run by the MEMU and EMU rakes. The suburban railways also include DMU services and passenger trains till Rewari nestled in Haryana which is also thought to be an important part of the city, New Delhi.

Ladies Special

The Suburban Railways makes use of the same track which is used by long distance trains. In 2009, a special train for ladies was commenced between Palwal and New Delhi. Further, 2 more trains are expected to be running to Ghaziabad and Panipat.
