Work profile of traffic system of police in Delhi is related to the management and regulation of traffic in the city, enforcement of various kinds of rules related to traffic, regulating the education to the commuters about road safety. The traffic wing is under the supervision of the top ranked official of Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic section, who in turn is have 4 Deputy Commissioners of Police for assistance.

Since many complaints were received from consumers, Delhi Government initiated a helpline for transport, along with Delhi Traffic Police, by dialling the number 011-23010101, from any number within the city limits. Suggestions as well as complaints related to traffic issues can be provided through this number. Through this number, people can also call for reporting violations in traffic and any kind of refusal or misbehaviour or overcharging by buses or auto-rickshaws and taxis.

  • For any traffic related problems, complaints can be lodged at any hour of the day through the Traffic helpline number 25844444.
  • Suggestions about traffic and related complaints in e-mail forms can be sent through the online means to [email protected].
  • People can also fill in the card for complaint, which is a pre-postage card with payment done, where the complaints can be lodged regarding violation of traffic and any suggestions, available at various assistance centres or booths of traffic.
  • There is the traffic portal wherein information about traffic is provided, at www.delhitrafficpolice.nic.in
  • To get information through SMS, about various kinds of failures of signals, diversions in traffic, details of accidents on road, congestion in the road, details about notices, people can send message on the number of 9811452220.
  • Through the FM station of radio, information on traffic is available.
  • To pay for the violations of traffic fines and the compounding charges thereof, for which notices have been received from centres of DCP/Traffic-Southern Range at R.K. Puram, Northern Range office at Old Police lines and Traffic VIP offices located in the Teen Murti Traffic Police lines, throughout the day, with some others having office timings.
  • There are about 28 centres for TSR services or prepaid taxi bookings across railway stations, ISBT bus stops, Airports and commercial centres or market places.
