Air Transport

New Delhi is considered as an international gateway and as a hub for domestic travel which connects the city to other places through air, rail and bus transport. The city’s airport is exposed to thick blanket of fog in the months of December and January which in turn disturbs the time table of airlines. This makes it wise in not booking back-to-back airlines for this period.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi serves both domestic and international links and is nestled in the south western region of the city. It is located alongside the popular Delhi Gurgaon Expressway. This airport recorded an impeccable traffic record of 20.44 million travellers in the years 2006 and 2007. It is also acknowledged as the popular and busiest airport in entire South Asia.
