Womens Special




There are lots of women commuters who travel by bus every day. In order to cater to the needs of these women and to ensure they travel safe to their workplaces and back to their homes, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has launched women’s special buses on eleven routes that have been identified as important. These routes mostly connect corporate offices, residential areas and main market areas. These buses that were specially designed for women were declared open for public by the then CM of Delhi, Ms. Sheila Dikshit.  These buses are operated by women conductors and will ply to areas like Nehru Palace, Connaught Place, Dhaula Kuan, ITO and Bhikaji Kama where there are many offices.

Route

Some of the other important areas that will be covered by the women’s special buses are Karol Bagh, Rajendra Place, Red Fort, Preet Vihar, Janpath, East Patel Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, INA, IGI Airport, Andrews Ganj, Pahar Ganj, Darya Ganj, Uttam Nagar, Karam Pura, Munirka, RK Puram and Lajpat Nagar. The routes through which these buses will travel are important landmarks of Delhi like Rajendra Place, Central Secretariat, AIIMS, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, IIT Gate, India Gate, Delhi Secretariat, Madhu Vihar, Mori Gate Terminal, Old Delhi Railway station, Mehrauli, Shahdara, Dwaraka Morh, New Delhi Railway Station and Rohini Sector II.
