Security

The Central Industrial Security force, also called CISF, takes care of the security at the Delhi Metro Railway Station. Since 2007 when they took over this service from Delhi Police, they have been providing security services. There are closed-circuit cameras installed that monitors the stations and trains while feed from these cameras is then monitored by the authorities of Delhi Metro and CISF in their individual control rooms.

More than 3500 personnel of CISF are deployed that deal with security and law and order issues besides they make use of dog squads, baggage inspection system and metal detectors to ensure proper security system. Around 5200 CCTV cameras are installed. They monitor each and every corner of the station. Even the underground stations have around 45 to 50 cameras which are installed to ensure enhanced security. Even the elevated stations are well equipped with 16 to 20 cameras. CISF monitors these cameras and it is CISF that is accountable for the security of DMRC. Each of the train cars has intercoms for making emergency communications amid the train operators and passengers. Regular security mock drills are conducted at different stations and trains to make sure of the activeness of the security agency at times of need. The DMRC is even looking for elevating the railings and stations in order to secure the passengers.
