Yellow Line
Yellow Line is one of the six lines that operate in the Delhi Metro. It is a rapid transit system of the Delhi Metro system. The yellow line covers a total distance of 45 km and has 34 stations on the operating line. It operates between Jahangirpuri (Delhi) to HUDA City Centre (Gurgaon, Haryana). The Yellow line passes through most of the congested places in Delhi and that’s the reason why these lines are mostly underground. The first section of the underground stretch which is of 4 kilometres built between Vishwa Vidyalaya to Kashmere Gate was opened for public on 20th December 2004. Yellow line is the second lengthiest line in the Delhi Metro network.
Yellow line is provided with links to Violet, Red, Blue lines and New Delhi, Old Delhi Railway stations of the Indian Railways. Yellow line is linked to the Airport Express Line at the New Delhi Railway station. The deepest metro station in the Delhi Metro is on the Yellow line at Chawri Bazar. It has a depth of 30 metres under the ground level and the station has 18 escalators. This station is located very close to the popular UNESCO World Heritage site Red Fort and the largest mosque Jama Masjid.
