India Habitat Centre

The India Habitat Centre is a comprehensive convention center located in New Delhi. In this multipurpose building, Commercial, social and work spaces come together under one roof.

With a wide range of facilities here, the India Habitat Centre (IHC) provides an ideal physical environment for people, thus maximizing the productivity of individuals and institutions. The concept and design of this building clearly reflect the main principle of the Centre, which is to provide a balanced and harmonious way of life at both ecological and environmental levels.

IHC covers an area of nine acres in the center of the city. The total built up area of the Centre is almost a million square feet. Novel innovative technologies incorporated in the conference and communication systems, building management systems and energy conservation make it the smartest building of the country.

The logo of India Habitat Centre is a combination of Lord Shiva, the Holy archer placed next to a triangle pointing downwards. This downward triangle represents His companion Shakti, thus depicting the typical marriage of energies. In the abstract form, it is a key to the secret of universal and cosmic harmony.

Many leading corporate as well as non-profit organizations like Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), NHB, HUDCO, ILO.CII and many more come under one roof. They have a common concern for the Habitat and are part of this venture of a smart building and have come up with a unique synergy in the complex. Apart from these corporate offices and research organizations, India Habitat Centre is also home to a club, lots of restaurants and venues for performing cultural activities. The Stein Auditorium at Habitat World One is undoubtedly one of the best auditoriums in India. With state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables direct telecast and 35 mm projection, it definitely stands out. This hall is ideal for conducting seminars, large conferences, screening of films, presentations and cultural and theatre performances. Also, simultaneous interpretation can be requested for.
