Ansal Plaza stands tall on 35 acres of land at HUDCO place towards the Southern Extension of Khel Gaon Marg. This is a huge shopping complex and many eyebrows were raised when this mall was opened for the general public. One could shop for anything in this mall like clothing, shoes, electronics, beauty products, sweets etc. There are also some good restaurants, amphitheatre and dual layer parking in this complex which attracts lots of people daily.

This mall is an excellent blend of architectural brilliance and artistic magnificence. Resplendent with excellent interiors, fountains and excellent flora, this mall was the first high profile malls to be set up in Delhi.

Architecture

The Ansal Group has constructed some remarkable buildings and this Plaza is one of them. The architectural style of this plaza is very elegant. The floors are made up of granite and marble and the interiors of the mall is simply breath-taking with the different lobbies, fountains and balconies. The massive atrium adds to the style of the place. The amphitheatre that is found inside the mall is the most-preferred venue for various events.

This plaza has two floors below and four floors above the basement. There are ample of lifts and elevators to go around the different shops on various floors. Just next to the lobbies of the lift, one can spot public toilets that are neat and clean. The plaza is made up of three blocks - A, B & C. A&B are well-connected with each other through lifts and escalators. However to get to Block C, which is situated quite far one has to use the skywalk that is found on the first floor of the plaza. The skywalk is the only option available to reach Block C because it is constructed in a separate complex. The complex itself is a remarkable structure that is in the shape of a circle. It is constructed around the amphitheatre. During evenings, this complex looks phenomenal with its lighting patterns.

Brands and Shopping

This shopping complex has something in it for kids, middle aged and aged people. There are various options of kids’ clothing available at stores like Benetton’s Kids, Lilliput and Weekender. Youngsters and other people also find stores like Reebok, Nike, Adidas, UCB (United Colours of Benetton), Colour Plus, Lacoste, Levi’s, Lee, Ambika Pillai and many other branded stores quite interesting and engrossing. Entertainment and other beauty products are available Music World, Archie’s, Swadeshi Crafts, VLCC, Body Shop, Shoppers Stop and Nitanjali Art Gallery. Shoppers can also grab a quick bite at McDonald’s, Café Coffee Day, Subway, Mirchi and Café Nescafe.

How to Reach

If one wants to use the Metro for reaching the mall, one has to first go to the Central Secretariat Metro station. Though this runs from the Yellow Line as well, one must be careful to take the Violet Line from here. Moolchand is the nearest metro station to reach this mall. This station is just 5 stations away from the first station of Central Secretariat.

From Moolchand, the time taken to reach the mall is only ten minutes. There are many auto rickshaws and taxis available from the station for a maximum of Rs 45 rupees. The frequency of the buses that operate from the station to the mall is very high thereby connecting this plaza very well with other parts of Delhi.
