Greater Kailash

Greater Kailash, which is a well known residential area, is located in South Delhi and comprises of multiple neighbourhoods and markets. This area is divided into two zones, namely Part 1 and Part 2 which houses some of the most affluent families of the capital city of India.

The Part 1 of Greater Kailash got developed in 1960 when the government of Delhi allowed private builders to develop housing colonies in the city. When DLF developed this neighbourhood, no-one imagined that one day it will become one of the busiest shopping venues in the city. After the development of Part 1, Greater Kailash was extended and this extension was named as Greater Kailash Part 2. Today, both these comprise one of the posh colonies of Delhi. The most significant aspect of Greater Kailash is its urban development and this is what differentiates the place from rest of the Delhi which even today showcases the glimpses of past. Unlike old Delhi, the streets are not congested or dishevelled.

Both Railway Station and Airport are in close proximity of Greater Kailash.
