Third Car-Free Day to be Observed on Tuesday 22nd December

With an aim to improve the public transport infrastructure on Car Free Day’s third installment, the DTC – Delhi Transport Corporation has considered to run particular shuttle service. This facility would be available on 22nd December on Vikas Marg in Delhi. As per a statement issued by Arvind Kejriwal, the CM of Delhi, the capital city would keep a 3rd car free day which shall be followed by one special announcement. This announcement would be made by Gopal Rai, the transport minister in which he would say that the Delhi Government has specially selected the general congested stretch for this purpose.

Delhi Transport Corporation said that this special facility will consist of minimum 8 buses which would run from 8 in morning to 4 in evening. The facility would be extended from Anand Vihar to ITO on Vikas Marg. The officers and other traffic supervisors shall be deployed for this purpose to ensure smooth travel. As per the public transporter, special arrangements for bus would be made to facilitate the commuters on this route. The government of Delhi is also planning to issue a toll free contact number where the commuters can call and avail information about the DTC buses.

Besides this, MR. Rai also announced that they have proposed for rationing of odd even vehicle facility which would take 4 days for the registration process for six thousand buses and would operate under DTC Parvaran Bus Sewa from 1st Jan to 15th Jan in and around the capital city. Presently 200 private buses that run as school buses are inducted to increase public transport facility.
