Spend time at Camps and Remain Cool in Summers

Solace in laps of nature

Camp out with your friends and take kids along. This lets them be at peace from the maddening crowd while they explore the adventure activities like rock climbing, trekking and river rafting. Off beat locations like Himalayas can be the perfect destination for adventure lovers. Having simple meals in a camp under the sky can be a best break for the family.

Youreka conducts regular camps for kids in age group of 9 to 17 years in and around Delhi area. Alternately try out the adventure based experimental camping in the wild through Inme (for kids between 9-18 years) even Nehru Institute of Mountaineering conducts similar camps.

Theatre workshops: It encourages public speaking skills of the child apart from being a team player. It helps articulating wonders and presents a production work of won at the end of camping season. Some can also be picked up for roles in commercials or films. Reading and reciting scripts help in making new friends and memorizing the lines. Hindi or English workshops can be chosen at Barry John’s Summer Theatre Workshop at any of the 14 venues across Delhi. These camps are organized for kids during May 25th or June 19th. Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts also conducts similar workshop for kids from 20th May onwards.

Sporting can be fun too

Learning martial arts, yoga and climbing can be a off-beat option for kids who are bored with routine camps for football/ swimming or cricket. The tests and classes at gyms combine fitness with sports they play at school frequently.

Ice –Skating is taught at I-skate in Gurgaon while DDA sports complex at Sake or Dwaraka conduct these activities regularly.

Museum

Museum workshop conduct more activities than the regular run through of various exhibits on display at Museums. The diverse range of subjects enables the kid to learn, interact while having fun at the same time. The art workshops include puppetry, performance art and ancient script learning activities.

Museums in the city have ample activities planned for children this summer that go beyond visiting the usual exhibits on display. The workshops are interactive, fun and deal with a diverse range of subjects. From learning an ancient script at the National Museum to painting, puppetry, and performance art workshops at the National Gallery of Modern Art, the museums in the city have a range of activities to engage children. These are held at National Museum from 21st till 29th May and National Art gallery of Modern Art for a week from May 25th onwards.

Library

For those book worms, signing up for membership of a library can be fun to go beyond those reading activities mandated at school. It can also be a best deal to stay away from hot weather in summer season. Pick a book or visit the nearby library to have access to world of information. The nearest one in Delhi is the Delhi Public Library across five venues or the Teen Murthi Bhavan- Nehru Memorial Library and the KG Marg British Council Library.

Learning a new Language

This can be never as interesting with the workshop at Alliance Francaise de Delhi, The Institute of Spanish Studies and Goethe Institute at Max Mueller Bhavan. The options can be online tutors or private ones – the proficiency can range as per your need. So why wait? This can be helpful if you happen to travel abroad. These workshops are conducted during May 18th till June 29th for different time frames.

Knowing Delhi Better

Kaafila-e-Dilli is a workshop which lets the individual to explore Delhi by Foot. The children are allowed to explore Delhi on foot and understand history better and relate it to the current culture. Conducted from 17th May till 23rd May from the Father Angel School, Delhi by foot is fun to be a part of.

Mall mein Masti

Workshop conducted by Colour Maths lets the kids to learn origami, craft, learn art and be a part of reading club. All this is conducted at DLF Saket Place Mall where shopping and eating are ancillary activities. Racket games are also part of the fun activities.
