Food Fiesta at Suraj Kund International Crafts Mela

Food lovers can have a great time at the 29th Suraj Kund Mela at Faridabad. The theme state Chhattisgarh is all set to welcome the visitors with delicacies specific to their State. The host Haryana is not left behind with its cuisines on a platter ready to cater to the hunger of many visitors. Cross border stalls from Pakistan offers their own delicacies and the partner Nation Lebanon is not left behind with Mediterranean food served at their stalls.

The authentic Chhattisgarh cuisines at Suraj Kund Mela include the chawal ke pakode, tashmai, gulgula, uradh wada, jimikand and godali bhaji. Side dishes like chutney of garlic chilli make the cuisine more mouth-watering, and no wonder the Chhattisgarh is known as rice bowl of India with many dishes made of rice.

The tempting soya dishes like soya Indie fries, soya chikka and soya chikka rogan josh attract the vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

Dum biryani, kebab roll, mutton tikka and chicken kebab are the cross-border dishes available at throw away prices at Pakistani stall, set up for the second time amongst the delicacies offered at Suraj Kund Mela. These stalls earn anywhere between 16,000 and 25000 per day in the Suraj Kund Mela which has already entered its second week.

The Mediterranean food include the mankrusha, chicket naggets, falafel and similar other varieties from Lebanon. Kulfi lovers are not let down as the stall set up thereat have pista kulfi, paan kulfi, malai kulfi and many other flavours to try out for a sweet tooth fellow.

The Haryana stalls have kesari kheer, pao bhaji and kulcha as delicacies offered at Suraj Kund Mela offered in ala carte and buffet, both.
