Delhi Tourism Inaugurates Heritage Walk at Purana Qila

On World Heritage Day’s occasion, Heritage Walk at Purana Qila was inaugurated by Delhi Tourism in an association with the Delhi Heritage Management Secretariat. Delhi tourism conducted the inaugural walk in an association with Delhi walks (YEXPLORE units’) and Indian National trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTACH). Jitender Singh Tomar, Minister of Tourism, Art & Culture and Law & Justice, Government of Delhi, flagged off the inauguration.

Various tourism ministers like Ramesh Tiwari, Alka Lamba, K K Sharma and S S Yadav were also there on the occasion of Delhi tourism Heritage Walk. Tiwari told that at present the Heritage walk is inaugurated at Purana Qila and this frequency will increase soon depending upon the received response. Similar kind of heritage walks will be launched soon at monuments like Baolis, Qutub Minar, Central Delhi, Jama Masjid and Red Fort in Delhi.

The major objective behind the Heritage Walk at Purana Qila is to bring awareness about the rich India’s historical past that is related to monuments and to conduct this in an international way. Activities of water sports will also be promoted at the region and it would become a tourist site. The Delhi tourism Heritage Walk was later followed by a very informative quiz on heritage in the evening by the name ‘Sawaal Dilli ka at Dilli Haat’.
