The Museum belonging to Indian Air Force, Indian Air Force Museum in Palam is situated at Palam Air Force Station, Delhi. One can avail free entrance to this museum. This is the one and only museum of this type in the country until they established Naval Aviation Museum in the city of Goa during 1998.

This museum hosts huge collection of armory and aero planes that tells the story of Indian Air Force.

Attractions Inside Indian Air Force Museum

This museum comprises of one indoor gallery carrying the pictorial representation of Indian Air Force history along with the display of personal weapons, uniforms and memorabilia belonging to various periods. There is an adjacent hangar which delivers the vision of actual aircraft at that specific period. Apart from aircraft, there are other equipments like vehicles, Anti Aircraft Guns, Ordnance and various other exclusive items. The aircrafts that are too big to get accommodated inside the hangar are kept on the apron outside the gallery. There is an outdoor gallery which provides a look into Captured Enemy Vehicles, Radar Equipment and War Trophies.

All these aircrafts are kept for display only during annual Air Force Day. There is a small souvenir corner inside this museum.

By Air

This museum is located near to Air Force Station Palam’s technical area gate. It is hardly 30 minutes drive from international airport that is well connected to all major Indian cities and also to world.

By Rail/Road

It is a 45 min journey in an auto/taxi from Inter State Bus Terminus or New Delhi Railway Station which are well linked with all other major cities of the country.
