Free Bus Ride for 4 Hours on the Occasion of India’s 68th Independence Day

A gift to the Delhites on 15th August 2014 is proposed, also provision is made for availability of 10,000 seats at the Red Fort for the public, where the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be delivering the Independence Day address to the country at large. Provision is made for public to sit on the Red Fort’s Public area. Also, an equal number of school children will be seated dressed in tricolor. A senior official also says that for those seated 10,000 citizens, security arrangements will be made and the Delhi Transport Corporation is busy in making necessary arrangements. Red Fort and surrounding areas will have frequent bus services operated to make movement easier, and make free services available from 6 to 10 in the morning. There is restriction in public carrying mobile phones, cameras, binoculars, handbags, briefcases and other items, which will be subjected to serious security checks.

The security check arrangements for the Prime Minister has also been beefed up which has a multi-layer security which covers thousands of armed men to keep a constant eye on the visitors. The Red Fort will have ground-to-air security apparatus near important places. The route where the Prime Minister travels will be covered with heavy security and more so at the Mahatma Gandhi Samadhi at Rajghat where the PM would be placing a flower wreath.
