PM Modi Launched India's First National Air Quality Index to Measure Air Pollution in Real Time

Pollution is a major problem in cities today. Air pollution in Delhi is more as compared to other cities in India. PM Narendra Modi has recently launched National Air quality Index for 10 cities including- Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Faridabad, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra.

PM Modi has launched National air quality index to monitor the air quality in major cities on real-time basis and to enhance public awareness so as to take mitigative action. It will be having ‘1 description, 1 color and 1 number’ for informing the people about the quality of air in an easy and simple format.

AQI will inform the public about the air quality and will provide advices on health consequences. It will also inform about how polluted or clean the air is along with associated health effect that are of major concern. It will also help to reduce air pollution in Delhi and help take precautions on the days of ‘bad air’.
