All those people who are burning leaves, rubber, garbage etc. openly in Delhi city will now pay a fine of Rs 5000 under the recent rule on National Green Tribunal. This step is taken to take care of waste management in Delhi so that the city remains clean.

Stepping up to make this effort to stop pollution, National Green Tribunal (NGT) has announced this on Tuesday with a fine of 5000 Rs. on individuals for burning of leaves in Delhi along with burning of rubber, leaves, garbage, plastic etc. in open regions.

Green Tribunal, few days before had issued this rule which has banned the moving of diesel vehicles that are older than about 10 years and more on the roads of Delhi in order to curb pollution. Other than this rule of burning of leaves in Delhi, burning of leaf litter and garbage is banned already in Nagpur and other cities under the ‘Municipal solid wastes rules 2000’.

The current waste management in Delhi will help the city become neat and clean. Due to the rising pollution, it was very necessary to take this step and the fine charged on people will stop them in burning leaves and garbage in open areas.
