The renowned Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is all set to get opened in the national capital with full pomp and show. British Prime Minister David Cameron has said that Shakespeare First Folio, the Magna Carta and vast treasures and antiques from British Museum would be on extensive touring displays in New Delhi for 2017 cultural exchanges. The overall idea of Wax Museum in Delhi is to promote culture and arts across India so that people from remote corners of the country also get a chance to explore statues of renowned personalities and other arts and craft. The overall program will be a part of UK-India year of arts and culture celebrations. The announcement to open the Madame Tussauds Museum was made by British government during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United Kingdom. The British PM said that the partnership and relationship between the United Kingdom and India actually extend beyond economic ties.

It must be noted that Bollywood megastars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have their exhibits at the Wax Museums in London. Moreover, the parent association of Madame Tussauds, which is Merlin, will invest around £50 million in India in the next ten years in order to promote culture and arts. At the same time, Merlin will also roll out other British much loved such as Legoland Discovery Centres and Sea Life aquariums across Indian cities. Furthermore, two of the iconic British texts would tour different cities in India involving the 2017 art and cultural exchange. In addition, the renowned British Library will exhibit 1225 version of Magna Carta, first collected version of the popular Bard’s plays, and Shakespeare’s First Folio. The British Library would put 200,000 pages and archives of South Asia in digital form, thus making ancient Indian books dating back to 1714 and 1914 accessible to people around the world.
