Delhi's Hotels, Restaurants Have to Get Food Safety Licence in 1 Month

The hotels and restaurants in Delhi are given a notice to mandatorily apply for food safety license by the Delhi Government. This has been strictly issued and a time frame of one month has been given. Satyendar Jain, the health minister of national capital said that the government has reached to conclusion to adopt zero tolerance policy for this, against those owners who are engaged in food adulteration. This shall come very hard on Hotels in Delhi violating the food safety standards.

As per a top government official, it will be must for the hotels and restaurants in Delhi to register themselves and avail food safety license in one month via simplified online process. The recently appointed commissioner for Food Safety, announced in his statement that Directorate of Prevention of Food Adulteration shall strictly put in action the provisions of food safety and standards act of 2006. As per this act, Hotels in Delhi violating the act shall have to face imprisonment of 6 months and fine of 5 lakh rupees on the owners running the hotels and restaurants running with any food safety license.

For the benefit of the businessmen being in hospitality business, the Delhi government will also undertake a campaign for educating people on the food safety license, the act and provision on violating the act.
