Delhi Transport Department Starts Issuing 4K NCR Permits to Autorickshaws

Post one year of declaration of one scheme for the seamless travel of autorickshaw amid NCR and Delhi, the Delhi’s transportation department has initiated the process of guaranteeing Permit to Delhi Autorickshaws to NCR if they are eligible. Speaking of the original scheme, the government of Delhi will also permit 5,500 autorickshaw grants of which 2750 would be earmarked for UP while 2750 for Haryana.

Numerous autorickshaw owners have shown their interest in playing the three-wheeler vehicles between Sonepat, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi. As per a transport official if the “Delhi Autos in NCR “applications exceed the number of 5500 then there would be a lucky draw. The department said that they would be adding preference for women drivers too.

The auto rickshaws from Uttar Pradesh shall have to stick 3 inch orange colored strap which reads – NCR auto for UP – in white color, while the ones in Haryana would have a strip in purple. The drivers of Delhi Autos in NCR shall be required to illuminate LCD display on the board on top of the vehicle. The decision for issuing the Permit to Delhi Autorickshaws to NCR comes after long battle of 7 years post Delhi signed the agreements with UP and Haryana Government.

Those who are applying for permits will have to purchase a new vehicle that has GPS facility. Infact they should also get a counter sign via particular transportation authority of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The government of Delhi has signed reciprocal general agreement of transport with Rajasthan, Haryana and UP which ensures seamless movement of vehicular transportation.
