Delhi Sweats as Heatwave Worsens

Mercury in Delhi has touched 45 degree, making the city hot enough for the Delhiities. As per the weather forecast, the condition is to worsen more as the heat wave will continue for the next many weeks. The max temperature at Palam was soaring 46.6 degree while Delhi’s Safdarjung station set record of 45.5 degree which is 5 degree above the normal temperature. The least temperature recorded here was 28 degree while the level of humidity was amid 63 to 19 percent.

Considering the climate in Delhi, weather experts say that the sky is expected to be clear during the week though at times it might be partly cloudy by noon followed aby thunderstorm or dust storm in evening. The maximum Delhi Temperature can reach upto 45 degree. A statement of auto rickshaw driver said that every evening I look forward to storm which might have some cooling effect in the city, but it is going opposite and the city is becoming hotter. The subject has been staying in Delhi since Independence however this summer he feels is going to be very hot since the greenery has vanished.

A.K. Sharma the service director of Delhi Fire Department said that the station receives an average of thirty five calls every day when the mercury is around 30 degrees however this number increases to 150 when the Delhi Temperature crosses 45 degrees. This intense heatwave which has swiped the entire nation has forced the people of Delhi to run for cover, and has also give life to many diseases like viral fever, heat stroke, typhoid, diarrhea etc. The number of deaths due to heat related issues has crossed 500 in number. By Tuesday, the people can expect little respite from the soaring temperature as thunderstorm is expected.

This heat wave has not spared the infants and children too. Due to such Climate in Delhi, the hospitals are witnessing huge number of patients suffering from heat stroke. The healthcare experts say that the children should be educated to keep safe during scorching heat of sun. This will keep them safe and away from diseases.
