Delhi cooler today due to early morning rains

On the 20th of July, citizens of the national capital of Delhi woke up to a chilly morning as there were heavy showers during the early hours. The minimum temperature in the city was close to 24.4 degrees Celsius, a good two degrees below the average temperature of the season so far. Ever since the month of July started, Delhi has been receiving moderate to very heavy showers to the tune of 215.6 mm.

The Meteorological Department of Delhi has announced that July 20th would remain a cloudy day with few instances of mild thunderstorms in certain areas. Due the rains, Delhi’s humidity climbed up to 95% even as early as 8.30 in the morning. During Saturday (18th July) the maximum temperature in Delhi was 35 degrees Celsius, a couple of degrees above the season’s average , whereas the minimum temperature was 26 degrees Celsius, a tad lesser than the season’s average.
