Clear Sky in Most Parts of India, Rainy Day in Delhi

The New Year 2015 has brought in change not only to the calendar year but also to the climatic conditions in India. The second day of year 2015 witnessed a clear sky across the length and breadth of India. However, citizens enjoying winters in Delhi experienced slight showers as the fog gave way to some rains. New Delhi, the capital City of India experienced a rainy day on 2nd January 2015 with clear visibility of 1,000 metres. The Delhi temperature which had dropped drastically during the last week of 2014 left people lurching for warmth. The winters in Delhi with dense fog had disrupted the train schedules also resulting in delay of 5-10 hours and these rains gave respite from the chilling cold weather. As per the reports of MeT department, Delhi temperature had rippling effect in adjacent state of Uttar Pradesh which also reported clear sky. The fog had disrupted the daily life and travel in North India.
