10 Things that Delhi Wants from AAP Budget

On one hand the newly elected AAP government in Delhi is bracing up to present its maiden budget, while on the other hand, the Delhiites have given their wish list expected to be fulfilled in the AAP Delhi Budget, most of which are election promises made by the said party. Some of the expectations of common man from AAP’s first Delhi budget are

  • In its election campaign, AAP had promised additional 20 degree colleges and 500 schools to be built on outskirts in partnership with villages. Also, existing infrastructure of the school also requires a huge overhauling.

  • The government may take up construction of hospitals and also adding more beds in the existing 300 health care centres in Delhi.

  • In order to improve the connectivity of Delhi with other rural areas, additional 500 air conditioned buses may be introduced on roads, a promise made during poll campaign. Increase in frequency of city buses is also expected.

  • For keep the city clean, construction of 1.5 lakh public convenience rooms for women and another 50,000 toilets to be constructed at various public places.

  • Better coordination of funds release to attend to garbage issues is expected in AAP's First Delhi Budget. The recent tussle between Central government and State Government has put untold difficulties in terms of unattended garbage, a issue expected to be resolved in this budget.  

  • Last mile connectivity can be provided by rolling out a policy for e-rickshaws and metro feeders. Also additional infrastructure is required to accommodate traffic in line with increasing vehicles on roads. Parking facilities at Malls and Metro stations to be upgraded.

  • Pending works at Barapullah roads need to be completed on urgent basis as this corridor connects the Noida to AIIMs with DND flyway. Heavy traffic on this ring road can be addressed. Signal free roads at various other connecting roads are also expected.

  • Better policing system to curb menace of behavioral issues with policemen to be achieves by installing CCTV cameras at precarious places. CCTV cameras to be installed at public places, police stations and also at traffic signals.

  • Residents of Delhi are yet to get relief from the high power and water bills, a election promise expected to be kept in AAP Delhi Budget. The Delhiites expect a cap to be set on the usage of power and water so as to control wastages.
