Court Fees
When the Consumer Protection Act was initially launched during 1986 and implemented by the legislature, there was no clause in it about the fees to be paid to the court for its services. However, this was the precise reason why many people started misusing the same. Since no charges were involved, many people started using the court for many meagre issues. This led to the legislature bringing about certain changes to the Act. As a result of this, the Consumer Protection Act (Amendment) Act of 2003 included a clause in it for listing down the amount to be paid by the general public while availing for court services.
