DDA

With the aim of promoting and securing the development of Indian Capital, the Delhi Development Authority was established in the year 1955 as par the provisions of Delhi Development Act.

The capital city attracts thousands of people from all the neighboring states and cities with proper accommodation facility for all. The major credit for this goes to DDA or Housing Development Authority. Right from the initial period of Herbert Baker and Edward Lutyens, DDA Regional Housing Authority has taken immense step to convert pre-painted canvas into most beautiful artifact with plenty of space for all immigrants.

Achievements

Right from its establishment in the year 1957, without any role model, DDA has flourished successfully for the past 45 years with outstanding milestones and unbelievable achievements.

• The first master plan was designed by DDA in 1962 for planned and organized growth and development of capital city.
• A comprehensive plan was developed in the year 1990 with a duration of up to 2001
• The Draft master plan for Indian capital 2021 was promptly approved by DDA together with Central Government Master Plan 2021 for its notification publication in Gazette of India together with land use plan to invite suggestions and objections from Indian public.
• The received suggestions/objections would be properly scrutinized and incorporated into the final Delhi Plan 2021.
• About 69907.50 acres of land has been successfully developed by DDA for institutional, commercial, industrial, recreational and residential purposes.
• DDA carries the pride of facilitating or constructing approximately 10.65 lakh housing units thereby providing shelter for majority of Delhi population.
• They have designed and constructed IX Asian Games infrastructure together with shooting range, an international stadium and integrated Asian Games Village possessing 853 housing units.
• DDA commercial complex has delivered modern status to the city with well planned office-shopping complexes in nine district centers, about 134 local centers for shopping along with 440 easily accessible shopping centers in city.
• DDA has also designed 22 industrial estates possessing 12000 units. They have also granted many industrial plots
• Various commercial areas, community centers, local shopping centers and district centers developed by DDA acts as beehive of various economic activities thereby  generating wealth and employment to many people in Delhi
• In order to regulate the traffic, DDA has come up with well planned infrastructure that includes strategic flyovers. The benefits of those are clearly visible.
• Heritage Sites DDA initiated Urban Heritage Awards for those who perfectly maintain more than fifty years old buildings in a usable condition.
• This has created a general awareness about hitherto heritage in Delhi and also encouraged the maintenance of these heritage sites
• Delhi has got maximum green cover of 19%, more than any other metropolitan spots in India. This is mainly because of DDA who played a major role in delivering exclusive green lungs in Delhi.
• DDA has also developed fourteen sports complex comprising 1 mini sports complex, about 26 planned play fields and hundreds of small play fields in Delhi.
• With the help of good sports facilities developed by DDA, they organize numerous sports tournaments every year encouraging budding sports stars to represent India in international platform.

With their dedicated service in 45 years, DDA has developed a special place in hearts of Delhlites. They contribute their success to the combined effort of citizens, private sectors and government agencies.
