Delhi Keeps the Filmi Romance Afloat with Boat Rides

Delhi is known for its heritage and cultural destination but very few people know that this national capital embraces some exciting and wonderful places for the tourists who love boating. Tourists bitten by the boating bug now have reason to be happy for Delhi has some best spots for boating in and around the city. There is no dearth of spots for boating in Delhi for a diehard boating fan.

  • Boat Club, India Gate – to start with an iconic monument, Delhi has boating provision for tourists that visit India Gate. Huge open spaces with fountains, rolling greens and parallel running canal is truly feast for eyes. There are 19 row boats and 20 paddle boats here at the boat club. Tourists enjoy their boat ride here at reasonable fair from 2 to 9 pm daily.
  • Old Fort – Based in the ruins of Purana Qila, the boating at this facility is a cherished experience. One can indulge in 15 minute ride at mere cost of INR 20 per person.
  • Bhalswa Lake – This lake is mainly known for different water adventure activities in Delhi. Apart from boating, you can try rowing, kayaking and canoeing etc. Fulfill your water sports fantasies here and feel rejuvenated.
  • Naini Lake – Based in Model Town, this lake offers economical rides on Shikaras. Each Shikaras carries six adults and one child and the ride is so interesting that it must not be missed. Explore the lake by yourself through the paddle boat.
  • Damdama Lake – Based in Haryana which is 60 kms from Delhi, there are hundreds of cranes which can be spotted here, offering a wonderful scenic view during boat ride.
