Special Police Unit for Women and Children

Special Police Unit for children and women in Nanakpura has been set up mainly as a reconciliatory, solving and resolving body against different matrimonial disputes which take place between different couples and their families. All these cases are handled under the complete supervision and guidance of Police Joint Commissioner. After having spread its presence all over Delhi, this unit has come to be known as CAW popularly so that it can reach out to women in dire need. Responding to the requirement of the society, such units have undergone many times transformation and presently, it is a centre for empowerment, support and relief to those women who have been victims of violence and crime. In 2009, this unit was even made a state nodal unit on certain Juvenile Issues.
